As a newcomer to Adobe PS 4.0 and PE 2.0, I have not been able to burn a slide show of my daughter's wedding on DVD, this after numerous attempts.Burning a CD is no problem but the quality lacks much to be desired. I have followed these steps as noted in the manual: (1)Click "Output", (2) Click "Burn to Disc", checked "DVD", checked "NTSC", (3) Click "OK" > Save Slide ShowAs WMV, Save In "My Video", gave it a file name, Save As Type: Windows Media File[*WMV], (4) Click "Save" > Adobe PE Writing WMV File..., at 100% > was then automatically transferred to Premier Elements 2.0. In the New Project Window, I gave it a name and Save In C:Documents and Settings (My Document)Adobe/Premier Elements/2. (5) Click "OK". The Slide Show then appears in the PE timeline. The DVD Template window appears and checked "Auto-Play with no Menu". (6) Click "OK". The DVD Layout window appears and (7) Click "Burn DVD". The Burn DVD window appears , checked "Burn to Disc", click "rescan", ckecked "Fit Content to Available Space, use DVD in USA NTSC, status ready, (8) Click "Burn". Burn DVD Progress window appears, encoding to 100% Burning Disc 1of 1 window appears and at that point the entire system freezes up. Unable to get out, Ctrl>Alt>Delete the only way out. I have PSE 4.0 and PE 2.0 installed on my computer {Dell XPS Pt4 with 1.00GB Ram and 187GB of free space} All new drivers on the DVD/CD Burner. I have no problems burning a regular video DVD from PE 2.0. What am I doing wrong or leaving out ????? This software bundle certainly does not perform as advertised. Would appreciate any help you give.

I have given up doing slideshows in photoshop and burning to dvd in premiere.
I now just do the whole thing in premiere elements. I find it works really well then. Can put music to it, transitions everything. i have the same bundle as you do with the pe2 and pe4 and I just use the photoshop for editing photos. (and hopefully creating things!) But as far a slideshows go....unless you want them in CD, I just go straight to premiere elements.
But that's just my opinion, and what I do???:)

Just ome quick attempts to localize the problem:
(a) Try "burning to folder" instead of "burning to disc" in Premiere Elements 2.0. After you do that, you take that VIDEO_TS folder produced and burn it to DVD with the software that came with your CD/DVD writer. Further details of the latter burning if need be.
Of course, some questions:
(a) What is in your slideshow, approximately how many Total MB, minutes,...? What is the approximate resolution of each of the photos that went into the slideshow?
(b) Could you give more details on your report "I have no problems burning a regular video DVD from PE 2.0." Do you mean that if you start a project in Premiere Elements 2.0 (omit using Photoshop Elements 4.0 altogether) and take it to DVD-VIDEO, no problems?
(c) When you have your Photoshop Elements 4.0 slideshow on the Premiere Elements 2.0 Timeline, is there a thin red line that runs across the top of the track? If so, you may have to Render by pressing Enter before heading to the DVD module.
(d) You have defragmented and optimized your system?

The slide show in question consists of 78 pictures for a total of 11 minutes and 39 seconds in duration with audio and transition between each slide.
I have converted a few analog videos to digital in PE 2.0, edited them, then burnt them to a DVD without any problems and with good quality. One of the videos that I burnt was 1 hour and 18 minutes in duration.
From working on and editing videos, I know that you must render. There is a red line accross the slides in the timeline and I do render before continuing.
I frequently defrag.
Thanks for the help, I will try to burn to folder as suggested.
