Can anyone reading this help me insert a video clip into Premiere Elements 2.0 over an existing audio clip?

Thanks

First, where is that video clip now? Is it on your hard drive, a CD/DVD disc, cell phone, other? What is the file type? Is it on the Allowed Import Type list?

Simplest case, via Get Media or using the Media Downloader if necessary get the clip into the Media Panel, and then drag it to Track 1 in the Timeline, above the audio in Audio 1. (If you need to stretch audio using Time Stretch Tool, it is safe to check "Maintain Pitch" to avoid sound distortion.) There is no "Fit Audio" feature in Premiere Elements. This leads us into the use of unnumbered markers which we will leave for another Thread.

The Forum into which you placed your Thread is for Photoshop Elements, and the preferred place for Premiere Elements questions is in the Premiere Elements Forum. But, wherever you place your question, someone is always there to help.

Thanks so much for the insight.

I have a video clip that I imported from a DVD into P.E. then had a blank spot (lens cap on) with audio that I wanted to leave as is.

I have attempted to Copy and Paste or Insert another video portion along with the audio but the other video/audios move down and I can't get them to join back up. There's always a blank spot either down from the video or the audio.

I Unlinked the Video and Audio; clipped the video that I wanted to remove; copied an EXACT (minutes/seconds/frames) portion to paste into the void but the audio either moves away or the next portion of video.

What I was able to do but did not have the time to precisely measure it was to take a video portion (without audio), save it as an MPEG then import that into the clipboard, drag it down and that would have worked were it not for the fact that the EXACT minutes/seconds/frames for some reason did not fit the space. I gave up and imported and stretched a BMP to fill the void.

Lastly, why does it take 3+ hours to burn a DVD when I'm done? Do I need to convert the work somehow? The book doesn't cover that.

Someone else suggested that I get the newer version.

HELP again...

Thanks

Charles

I replied to your thoughts on Prem Elem but may have posted it incorrectly. I wanted you to know that I did answer.

Somehow, it appears with the same Title as my first.

Thanks

Charles,

Regarding your question about burning times. Have you seen the following?
http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bbde70d

For the clip project, you may want to look into:
Trimming Clips tutorial under Tutorial Tab at http://www.chuckengels.com.
Also, maybe check out possibilities using the Razor Tool.

That trimming the clip business can be done in the 3.0 version as well, with the major task being overcoming some changes in the scenery that Adobe has made.

Wherever you post in these Forums, you are only a click away with a lot of people willing to share.
