Reuse a layer??

I know that I have seen something about this, but I can't find it so I am asking again! Is it possible to reuse a layer from a previous project if they have not been flattend? If so, could someone please explain how to do it.

If you have both pictures open in the editor just drag the layer you want (using the move tool) to the new picture.

Hi Debbie,

Have both images open in your photo bin and bring them both into the workspace with the Tiling icon (looks like four little squares in the upper right corner). Click on the image with the layer you want to reuse. Then look in the Layer Palette and click on the layer you want in the other image, then drag it over to the other image. I think if you hold Shift down before you let up on the mouse button after dragging, it will center the layer on your other image.

Also if you highlight the layer you want to copy and right click, then choose Duplicate layer, it will give you a dialog box that allows you to pick the document you wish to copy it to. Just another way to do the same thing.
