Text in PSE4

I am trying to add some text on top of a jpg picture using the Horizontal Type Tool in PSE4. When I select the tool a new layer is added, then I 'draw' an outline box and type in my text, but no text appears on the image. What I type in is naming the layer. What am I doing wrong? :confused:

If it's naming the layer then it should be adding text. Are you sure you're not using white text on white - or maybe too small a font?
