I used Wendy's "Making a formal presentation background" tutorial for the background, and (of COURSE) our pride and joy, grandbaby Clara, at the top. I'm very open to any suggestions to improve it, before I add our Christmas news letter text and send it out. Any ideas?

It is just darling, perfect.
I've not tried the tutorial yet, nor done our christmas card. BUT, the photo is taken. so I guess that is a start!

Linda,
beautiful but I would be tempted to reduce the bevel or shadow around the baby.
Kev.:) :)
If I've upset all those who think it is perfect I'll put on my sackcloth and ashes and head for the hills.:D

I agree with Kev... I think it would give it a "softer" feel if you know what I mean.

I am just so amazed how clever everyone here is? Will it ever run off on me?

Thanks, Kev. When I get home from work, I'll lower the shadow (there was no bevel). I thought about that, myself, and think you (the montage KING), are right :)

I just had a thought . . .
What if I move the ribbon and baby down to the very bottom, so the ribbon touches the bottom of the image, instead of having it at the top? I could put a second ribbon at the very top, with another greeting on it. Hmmmmm. Guess I'll try that, too, when I get home today. Thanks to all for any suggestions for improving it.

Linda that is gorgeous. What a great idea for your Christmas stationery! Remember back in the 'olden' days when you went to the store and bought whatever 'stock' stationery struck your fancy? :D

I thought maybe it would be nicer with the baby a bit further down. But I like it with just the one ribbon! Cute idea.

Reka, I like that idea, too. Okay . . . now I need to play with it a bit more and re-post :) Thanks everyone for your help.

Hi Linda;
Reka beat me to it, I think Clara belongs on top of everything, just
not as high as the original. You have plenty of room for extra text
if you want to..
Great idea........Tom:)

Linda,
I really like your original.
Thanks for sharing your idea ... some great food for thought.

Thanks, Tony :)
I think perhaps some of you, who were suggesting moving the image more toward the center were thinking that this was going to be a card, but it's actually stationery for a Christmas letter. I played with it all last evening, and decided putting it back toward the top works best. Wrapping the text around her head, with it more toward the center, was looking strange.
But lowering the shadow was a great idea, and did improve it. Thanks to EVERYONE for your input. You guys and gals always come through :D
