Hi Guys

Can some please explain to me how the healing brush works.

I mean, I know how to use it but quite often it picks up some of the image to "heal with" which is miles away from either where I'm using the brush or where I picked the sample from.

Basically I don't understand the relationship between the sample point and the healing area.

Thanks

Sam: There are two healing brushes. The spot healing brush samples around the area you're working and blends the repair - good for dust spots or blemishes. When you're close to an edge though it will sample the edge and mess up. That's when you use the other one - the healing brush where you can choose where to sample from by Alt-clicking with it. The healing brush then works like the clone tool except that it blends in better with the bit you're repairing.

Just to add to what Tony said..The sample spot moves as you move the brush to 'heal' a spot. Say you sample a spot 1" from the place you want to heal. As you move up, down, left or right, your sample spot moves as well. If you move more than 1" to the right (being you sample 1" to the left) you will run into the spot you were healing and it will sample your original pixels under what you already healed.
At least that is the way I understand. Someone else can let us both know if I am mistaken.
