In the PSE4 organizer when trying to get photos from files and folders my organizer shuts down. The editor stays open. Currently I have about 12,500 files in the organizer and it works fine (although it seems a little slower but that might be my imagination) just as long as I don't bring any new files in it. I've reconnected and backed it up so I don't think the reconnect is a problem. Everything else on the computer is working great.
Info that might be helpful to someone that understands it (not me) 795 MHz, 1.00 GB of ram. I have a 90GB hard drive with 25GB available.
Is there a limit on how many items can be in the organizer? Has anyone else had this problem?

Try this when you have Organizer hiccups:
Open Organizer and then do a File>Catalog>Recover. This helps straighten out the underlying MS Access database.

As for limits, I've seen other posts with a theoretical 50,000 limit, but this does not seem to be an Adobe-supported hard and fast number. I'm thinking the true limit is the MS Access database, which has a 2 gig size limit.

Patty,

One thing you might also like to try is importing photos in small batches, or even singly, and see if that works.

It's possible that Organiser is shutting down, not because of a problem in Organiser itself as such, but because there's something wrong with one of the files you're trying to import.
