Steven... I think the snow looks wonderful! :) Living in Louisiana, I have never seen such a thing. I could imagine that it might be a pain to live with on a day to day basis. :o And what a great wife you have to march out in the cold just so you could take a picture. :D

BTW... don't you just love the Contrast Masking?

Kimi- We don't get snow all that often but since I have to drive in it for my job I have learned to hate it. Perhaps when I can get rid of that irratation I will look at it different. We just got off of a 60 hour power outage about 10 days ago from a severe windstorm so downed trees make me nervous. No power in subfreezing temps. can make for problems.
I really do like the technique you shared. Playing with the overlay layer opacity and doing a layer mask had saved a number of photos I previously thought were not useable. Thanks for sharing it. Showing it on a boat prop though was rubbing salt in the wound!:D

Ah Steven... I love your candid nature! :D

And I'll happily join you - I hate snow too! Sorry to hear about all the troubles it's bringing your way though, wow, that's an extremely long time without power.

Great ideas for motion subjects from everybody so far. I've been enjoying the entries for the past couple of weeks, some remarkable images, especially last week.

Peaches - your wine image is excellent! Good job on stopping the flow of the wine, it makes me want to join you for a glass. (I don't hate wine ;) )

Great shots, everyone! It's too wet here to get out and play.

Tony, how did you get those cars to go so fast in reverse?

These are swell entries so far. Good subject Bill.
Steven - Hope you all are ok - it sounds nasty up your way.
Bill - I like your skating shot although it makes my knees hurt. Were you skating at the time?
Kimi- Looks like you are doing well with the new camera, nice shot.
Kim - Yipes! What a way to stop the action.
Tony - I guess if you can make the cars go backward you can just turn back the clock.
Russ- That's some swell motion. ;)
Peaches - I like both of yours, the wine is spot on. Like I said I tried a fan and couldn't get what I wanted. What sort of settings did you use?

ellen-thank you for your kind words. As for the fan I tried a bunch of different settings, so am not sure which one I finally settled on. The worse were the ones with a flash, the motion blur could not be seen. that is why the pictures are dark.
everyone's shots are really good. snow scene makes me cold. like you I hate snow. Thankfully we don't get any here.

Thanks for the comments Ellen. Really like your wind up toy and you even have the box! Is that an old toy or a replica?

Just noticed that Photoshop TV this week has a tut by Dave Cross on making a parked car look like it's in motion. Worth checking it out as it's easy to do in Elements as long as you have a layer mask add-in.

Ellen - thanks for taking the time to comment. I've been AWOL for the week (hint: If the bacon tastes bad ... DON'T EAT IT!) and unable to keep up with the forum. Suzy Bouncing Ball looks like a fun toy and you really did a great job on the photo. Good composition with the box, and you nailed the motion!

Karen - Do you have to move? I'm going to miss your photos of the top pond. Nice entry!

Kim - Good shot of Kaylin feelin' the beat! Thanks for posting in the theme. Hope you'll be back for more entries!

Dman - Welcome to the Forum!! Your entry captured the water's movement very nicely. I like the drops too ... and hopefully they are on a window and not your lens! Hope to see lots more of your entries.

the drops in question were on the lens, my wife and I were close enough to catch some spray. Thanks for the welcome, I've been reading and looking at pictures for a bit and felt it was time to introduce myself and contribute.

I've seen some great pictures on here, hope my aren't to bad. Haven't used Elements to touch up anything, yet. :)

Gary- What was playing on the speaker to make the woofer move? I remember as a kid my parents went to Hawaii and we had a party at their house and fried out there speaker(s) testing the limit of Van Halen's "Aint Talkin 'Bout Love." 25+ years later I still haven't had the nerve to tell my mom. I did tell her when she sold the house that the scratch marks in the tub were from putting the keg on ice! Ahh, the memories....:D

Local radio station Q107 is having a Who classic rock weekend. So likely a Who song:D

I only had the volume half way and went through 3 or 4 songs before I got this one. It was harder than I thought.. that was about a 10 second exposure. I was really having trouble picking up the motion:confused:

Gary - Great shot ... and a great effort to get it. I didn't recognize the tune either, so thanks for letting us know it was the Who. Of course now I have Who ear-worms in my head and I'll have to crank up the Victrola myself.

Kim - Wow! That's a terriffic shot. Congrats to your daughter. Isn't Elkhart a nice place to watch a race? Been there many times and always enjoyed.

Steven - your memory of the blown out speakers you haven't told Mom about yet made me laugh. I think I was at that party - or at least one in that same era doing the same things!

Bill - I'll send your kudos on to my daughter. We make an annual trek to Elkhart for the Brian Redman challenge - so if you'll be there next July I'll buy you one at Siebkens!
