If I uninstall elements, then reinstall it, would it solve my problems?

I am using elements 4.0 and I went to the files, then reconnect all. Some of the files that are disconnected don't have a photo on the left hand side. Under it has the date, time and size of the file, but no photo. Should I reconnect it to the photo it shows on the right side? Is there some other way to solve this?

I have another problem. I have lots of photos with doubles and even triples of them. What should I do? Or can elements 4.0 clear this up for me some way?

Have a grest day.

Well, i always reconnect to the picture that's showing in the right box. If there is nothing there, you can do a search for it, but you have to find it yourself.
As for the double/triples of them, you can delete them out of just the photo browser, not your computer. I don't know of any easy way to do that.

Hi Lisa,

Uninstalling/Reinstalling is highly unlikely to sort your problems out - they sound like they are in your Organiser catalog, (which is the data file that Organiser uses), not in the program itself.

The two things that you should do when you suspect problems in the catalog are a File>Catalog>Recover operation, and a Reconnect. The former operation tidies up and compacts the catalog, and repairs many problems. The Reconnect you're already doing.

As shanen7980 says, if the file in the right pane is the correct one, reconnect it. The left hand photo is probably not appearing as a consequence of whatever problem caused the disconnection.

What exactly do you mean when you say you have "doubles or triples" in the Organiser? You shouldn't be able to import the same photo file into the Organiser more than once. Are these edited versions, or just similar photos or what?
