I spent several hours yesterday getting pictures of my family members to create a Christmas present for my parents. I put the Compact Flash card into my printer as usual and downloaded the images last night, no problems. I go in to work with them today and am getting the broken file message. The images are still on the disc also. What can I do? Thank you.

Have you moved the pictures to another folder since uploading them to photoshop?

I suggest that you right click on one of those thumbnails, choose Show Properties and then look at the folder location shown in the Properties - General box.

What folder and drive letter does it show for this photo?
(make the Properties box bigger if necessary to see the entire folder name)

Then click the folder symbol to the left of the folder name (if you hover on the folder symbol it will give a tip of "Reveal in Explorer") and it will take you to Windows Explorer so you can look to see if the photo file is really there. It probably is not.

So the question of the previous poster is relevant - did you move the photo files outside of Elements?

Once you tell us
- if you moved the files or renamed the folder containing these photos outside of Elements
- what folder and drive letter Elements thinks contains the photo

We can help you. The probable solution is to do a Reconnect of the photo files in Elements - but I think that if we understand what happened now it will help to prevent it happening again in the future.
