drop shadow in PS5

Drop shadow not working on either text or objects in PS5. suggestions please.

Can you see the little "sun like" icon just to the right of you objects in the layer palette ? So you double-click on a layer style and it doesn't show up in the layers palette?

I'd start by resetting the preferences. Press and hold the Control - Alt - Shift keys after starting Elements. Then answer yes.

Something that has popped up if Ray's suggestiond doesn't set you up is, that the shadow needs to be on a lighter background. I don't believe it would show up on a dark blue or maybe dark brown background.

If it is possible try using a light background and see if that works (just to try)

I had just the opposite problem with an outer glow.. background was too light.:rolleyes:
