Tonight while you are slaving over this Challenge think of me taking in a folk concert. A getting closer to retirement.

Grant,
Sorry to bother you, but I sent you 3 pictures for the previous challenge (197), and none of them were posted. Did I not send them on time? Have a comcast.net e-mail address and was wondering if that is being blocked or something. Nothing came back.

Trish,
I am also on Comcast, and I know for a fact that Grant's ISP uses a spam-blocking list which bans comcast.net email addresses.
For a time, I was able to use a Yahoo mail address, but they ban that one, as well, now.
I now have a Gmail (google) address which seems to get past the blockers, OK.

Too bad someone is abusing comcast. I have a gmail account. I'll try that next time. (That's my spam account, so that's why I never think about it. When I order online I use it.)

Woops ...sorry! I built the site...uploaded all your images and somehow over looked uploading a file that triggered yours to display.
They are showing now ...

Thanks Grant! No problem. I wasn't sure if it was me or not. Off to work this weeks challenge.
Thanks,

...uploaded all your images...They are showing now ...Hmmm... so Trish's Comcast.net mail gets through, but mine gets rejected? Strange. Maybe it is based on the actual mail server?

Thanks Kimi.... That was my "rug". Then I had to make a six legged creature. The other one, I just cut the original in "half" then flipped it and moved it over to line it up.
Little more work, this time.

Bryon,
I don't know. I did have one bounce from Grant's ISP once a couple of weeks ago, but I resent it and it went through. Maybe your e-mail is being routed through a black-listed place or something.

The canoe in mid air inspired a bunch of great
images this week, so between cooking various
Thanksgiving side dishes, a few comments:
ALEX B: #1 -- great fill job; Love the look on
the guy's face(s) as his canoe is swept away.
ANNE T: #1 -- Nice coloration on the canoe -- the
sky texture is fascinating. The organic look for
the frame in #2 is terrific.
BEN M: The owl and the pussycat theme is great!
Nice job on the whitewater embedding, too.
BILL Z: Nice work on the water and replacing the
heads with greenery.
ELLEN H: The tropical theme is great -- love the
pink canoe and the statue embedded in the
foliage.
JACK S: The added paddles are a great addition to
this 'cat boat' (#1) -- the texture is a nice
choice, too. Does that restaurant serve
Thanksgiving dinner? (#2)
JAMES P: Great use of the batik for water, fish
and logo and the prophet as the canoeist.
JODI C: I like the repetition of the heads as
ghosts.
KEVAN: Love the glowing eyes -- and the catnip
take on the image.
MALCOLM D: Hanging the heads in the shrubbery
makes an interesting image.
MARILYN L: I like the way you back lit the
princess in #1 -- does that egret look familiar?
The slippers in #2 are a hoot! Great idea.
RED S: Hanging the canoe in the garage is a great
idea -- that engine, though, is just loco.
SUSAN P: The old English sheep dog (#1 & #2) gave
me a chuckle -- I like the matching paw print on
the bow. The head-star in #2 is a neat
construction.
RITA G: I look on your works and dispair!
TOM M: Wonderful concoction -- I love the play of
light and the textures you achieved -- modified
plastic wrap, perhaps?
TRICIA R: The flying saucer is neat.
WARD G: Have to love the Trump hair on #1; The
devouring head in #2 is a great idea; I'm going
with #3 as my favorite in the set -- great
graphic appeal.
WENDY W: Interesting coloring in #1 -- a masked
gradient? The graded color in #2 makes a nice
contrast between the twin canoes. The eye-rays
and motion blur in #3 make it my choice in this
set.

Bob - Thanks for taking the time to comment. It's alway difficult to get inspired to work on your own photo.
There were a lot of creative entries this week. Your espresso looks great!!

Thanks for the words Bob. I didn't notice it until my photo was posted but the headlight of the train-truck looks like a cat. I didn't do anything to that part so it's kind of weird.
My favorite image of yours is #1; it has a northwest feel to it to which I am partial!

Hi Bob ...
Wow that newspaper is excellent and is my favourite ... very nice work indeed.
Thanks for the comments ... No I started with a gradent and then painted in extra bits :) No 2 I made the water and then overlaid a real cats face on the image ... masked out and blended in.
No 3 ... well I had a lot fun with those beams :) :)

Bob, thanks for taking the time to comment in the midst of all that cooking. For once I seem to have made clear what I meant.:)

Bob,
thanks for taking the time to post your comments.
The catnip idea was from a standing joke with Alice about Raffy.

I hope nothing burned on the stove while you took time to comment on this week's entries. Thank you for taking the time.
I, too, am voting for your newspaper-themed entry as one that really caught my eye. Everything looked so life-like.

Bill, Wendy & Ward --
I can't take full credit for the newspaper & espresso cup -- they started as Hemera Photo Objects and I added shading, the headline and the pictures (one of which is a stock temple and the other I constructed -- #4 shows it in more detail. I try to explain the rationale behind my images and how they were done every week at: http://www.rewarren.com/challenge/chl198.htm (just substitute the challenge number in the last part of the URL).

Hi Bob ...
Thanks for the info ... I often visit your site as its great for viewing older challenges.
Do you keep full sized versions of the original challenge images ?? ... I'm trying to redo one of my early ones (No 52) and I didn't keep a large copy of the original :(

Wendy --
I don't have all of them, but I think I do have #52 -- I think that was the egret. Let me know where to send it and I'll get you what I've got.

Bob, thanks for the link to your prior pictures. Haven't been all the way through yet but what an inspiration. I'm not sure why but so far the Winken, Blinken and Nod is my favorite.

Susan --
Glad you are enjoying the site. The WB&N image is one of my favorites, too, and was one of my earlier efforts -- advances in skill don't always trump inspiration and happenstance.
