Hi all,
Our Radio Station had a concert the other night to release it's new CD for 2007. This year the Guest artist was Rick Braun. I sent my photos (there were supposedly no cameras allowed) yeah right!! to the Program director who thought they were "Awesome" and asked if they could use them on the website. So anyway--so far they've put only 2 up. http://www.kifm.com/photos/index.cfm
I've put a couple in my gallery. I had to take all without flash--so not the best

Very nice, especially with no flash-looks like they had some pretty bright stage lights.

No cameras, huh? How about all the camera-equipped cell phones and PDAs?

Thanks guys!
Luckily, I was in the 2nd row--that helps with the lighting.
They didn't do the body or bag search--but how inconspicious could I be with a DSLR???? Of course, everyone are using their cellphones & disposables.....

Do you work for KIFM? I have them programmed on my car radio, right next to KPBS. Of course, being in SD, every once in a while I admit to listening to some of the CW stations in East County.

Sherry,

They're great! Is that how they came out of the camera or did you have to touch them up at all? I took some reasonably good pictures in a theatre last year with just the little thing that pops up on my 300D...but I had to do a bit of PSE-ing as there was a distinct colour caste. Yours are so clear and bright.

Nancy,
Yes you can:)

Lee, no I don't but I should be--99% of what I do is shot SJ Artists:cool:

Pat, I didn't touch up the color at all, just did levels, contrast & some noise removal. :)

:D Gary,
Yes, my poor messed up calendars---I still have 20 or so sitting here--that they printed with the year 2005 on the inside-instead of 2006.....at least I didn't make the mistake!! Yes the temp plummetted from 80 to 72--and I just couldn't stand it.

Kay, I thought I was starting early this year!!!:D :D :D

Sherry -- I'd love to hang out with you... except, I don't know if I'd rather be taking pictures or drumming. Okay... drumming would be my first choice. But if not drumming... then taking pics of musicians has got to be the most fun!!!

Your pics are great!!! What kind of lens are you using?

Norm,
I know--it's great!!! All my photos taken this year were almost exclusivel with that lens. When I bought it the camera shop owner told me he thought it was a really good quality lens & I do see a difference in my photos (not my ablilty-though:D )

You sell yourself short! I've enjoyed your photos and continue to see subtle improvements in each of them. Your latest photos are great!! You have really captures some super moments just at the right time. You should be very proud of your photos.

By the way, that drumset is very similar to mine. I'll try to get someone to take a photo of me with mine next weekend when I'm playing. Maybe I'll let them use my camera... if they can pry it from my hands.

Drummers are the hardest to photo--you are always hidden. But 2 of the photos I had in this month's Smooth Jazz Magazine were of a drummer!!!!:)
