I was going to post this in the thread that first had the link to a tutorial about making string/rope - but I can't find it :D. I have made my piece of string and would like comments on it - thanks.

Instead of adding a texture when I had finished, I added it to the single "piece of string" so that the texture would run around the string - hope that makes sense :D

Hi Karen
You are very very clever - with or without finding the tutorial you nailed it! :) The only thing I might like to try is using the distort tool to just mess them up a little - they definitely have to all run along the same way but they look just a little too perfect. (Who would have thought there was something that could be TOO perfect)?:o

Mary,

I DID find the tutorial but could not find the thread it was in to post my example. It is brand new string, Mary and that is perfect :D (yes, I do know what you mean).

Robyn,

Thanks for your comment.

Karen :)

Karen,
I can't wait to I get home to see your string. At school little pictures in something get blanked out.
I did post the string links (on Sat, i think) and only remember it was in one in the beginner section and I think Norma started the thread.
what I did yesterday was scan a one from a piece I had bought and then made a .png out of it.
On a slightly different note, I went to the scrapbook store on Saturday and only bought about 7 sheets of paper and no embellishments. I think the digital bug is starting to bite me big, :)
or maybe I just already own so many papers and things!!

Karen, that looks great. I was trying to find that thread yesterday too because it had some great scrapper links and couldn't find it either. I upgraded my browser and lost some of my Bookmarks. Could you post the link for the tut? And if anyone has the thread can you post it too? Thanks in advance.

Hi Kim,
I found it. It is on p.2 of the beginner section and titled Wendy's custom Tag.
I put the links in their.
I apologize for not placing a thread # here, but do not know yet how to find those numbers :o when looking at a thread. i'm sure its real obvious, just not made the connection yet.

ps:
Karen can you give us your steps??

Thanks Michelle. To find a post # in a thread it is in the dark gray bar about that post to the right just above the posters join date.

For those interested in the thread HERE (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15847&highlight=wendy%27s+custom+tags) it is.

Thanks Kim,
I do see where it has #9 in my other one and a #10 in yours. Also saw the little mark for reporting problems(?)
Is that it? I've sometimes seen where folks have a real long thread #.
I'm catching on...slowly.....

Michelle, the number above the post it just that, the post in the thread. Makes it easy for you tell someone a particular post to look for in a thread and lets PET keep track of how many post are in threads. The thread numbers themselves are very long because thats how many threads have been started in PET. The yield symbel for Report Post is so if someone is posting something offensive or against the coded of condust you can report it to PET.

Here is the tutorial I used:

http://scrapbook-bytes.com/cgi-script/tutorials/publish/article_523.shtml

I added my texture after step 8 but before step 9

I didn't think a bit of string would cause so much interest :D
