Hi,
Just tried my first B/W trying to get that soft dreamy look some of you do so well. Didn't quite get it. Am I getting close? Any hints on that type of look.

Hi Jack,
Don't feel qualified enough to comment on the dreaminess of your photo - but what a great shot that is!
On the first page in the Subscriber Area, there is a free Dreamy Photo plug-in that is terrific for the Dreamy Look. It offers presets but you can also play with the settings to come up with what you like. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to download it. They also offer a free Mosiac plug-in. Both are great.
I've visited your Gallery before - your wildlife images are just wonderful.

Beautiful photo Jack!!
I love black and white photos and I especially like the dreamy look - personally I prefer the dreamy look on portraits rather than landscapes, but yours came up pretty good :)
Like Pat said there's a dreamy photo plug in in the subscribers area.....it's a pretty good one too. Have you also tried virual photographer? There are a few different effects in that that also creat a 'dreamy look'.

I also am not qualified, but just giving you an opinion.
I like the sign you got rid of, that looks great.
All the contrast seems to be the same. the trees blend into the mountain and not a lot of depth.
Try playing with levels and shadow/highlights to see if you can get a bit more contrast.
if you are a subcriber, matt has a great video on how to do this.
Very nice picture overall.

I attempted the look using dreamy photo.... just an idea... many adjustments can be made when using the software in conjunction with PSE/PSCS2.

You're welcome. Having fun using the plug-in. I like to use it for my images, as well.
