I am starting my Christmas projects. I took some photos of my friends dog and I know she has forgotten. This is Rosie and this is the river in front of her house that she swims in every day. I got several good photos of Rosie and was going to do 3 different photos two of her and one of the river in black and white mat and frames. While I was playing I came up with this. I am not sure about the idea. How would this look 8 x 10 or 11 x 14 matted and framed? I have the frames from Ikea. They are very plain. Any ideas would be welcome. All I know is I have to get off this computer. My eyes are going cross-eyed. I have been on all day!!!

Shari,

It is great shot of the dog and a great shot of the river. What I find funny is that it looks as though the dog is balancing that rock on it's nose :D If it was me, I would be trying to get rid of that rock :D

I also like the photo and agree that it looks like dog is balancing rock at a quick glance. maybe leave rock and move dog.

Shari, I have to agree here. Great shots but it does look like a balancing act, especially since the caption says Please. It looks like he is doing a trick for a treat though. Is that the intention?

Shari,

Elements Newsletter V.3 #2 has a bit on page 15 on adding a shallow depth of field. If you have that newsletter you can look at that brief "tips & tricks" and see if it suggests any ideas.

I indexed that but have not tried it yet.

Shari,
Have you tried rotating your dog so its nose is horizontal and no in the air?
Just a thought....

Hi everyone. Just got home from a long day out and about. Thank you - that is just the kind of comments I wanted. Don't know why I did not get e-mail notification?? I was sooo tired last night that I could hardly see what I was doing. I will try a few things and also check if I have that copy of the newsletter. I might even go back to my first idea of having three photos in one long frame - two shots of Rosie and the middle one the river she plays in every day. And Kim - Rosie was saying can we Please go to the river?? She has actually got carried away a couple of times when the current was very strong. Thanks - it is so nice to have you all to give your opinions. I have a tough week coming up with a very sad funeral to attend so it will probably be next week before I can really get back to experimenting. Thanks again.
