I tried the tutorial but am a little frustrated over the lack of control I had. I think it looks OK but the clouds don't really look too realistic. I spent a lot of time "ctrl alt f "-ing to find just the right shapes but my clouds didn't render like Dave's did. The black and white parts were much smaller - there weren't really any large poofy clouds parts. Anyway - here it is:

Hi Andie ...

It could well be that you are using a higher resolution image. Try this ...

Do the control alt f then just use the move tool to increase the size of that layer until you get larger spaces ... you should then be able to carry on with the tutorial and make the clouds :)

You may also need to use a higher feather as that makes the edges more realistic ..

Andie, although the clouds didn't turn out great, that is an awesome photo. Did you take it?

Actually, Lindajay, I think my husband took it. It is in Barcelona. We both take pictures when we go on a trip and sometimes we can't remember who took what. Usually, if it is a "scene" or landscape - he took it --if it is a detail...I took it. Since this is a scene - I think he took it. Barcelona is VERY photogenic!!!

About the clouds - thanks for the ideas Wendy - we tend to take high resolution photos so maybe that is the problem. I'll try the technique again sometime this week.. Thanks for the help!!
