I am using a HP 2110 printer with an HP color cartrige. When It looks like I have an acceptable photo on my monitor in both in color and lighting when I print the photo it is consistently too light. I need to darken the pic by quit a bit, and then I,m guessing at the amount. How can I get consistent results? the color seems OK just the light.

Have you calibrated your monitor ?

Elements is a color managed program so it basically depends on this on your end. In your control panel you will find ' Adobe Gamma' which was installed with the software. Run this utility first, if possible.
