I am currently using PSE-4 on a windows platform and was wondering if you process a raw file in PSE-5 does it have a curve's adjustment like PS CS does.? PSE-4 does not have all the tabs for greater control as does PS CS. Does PSE-5 add any more control in the raw dialog window or is it basically the same as PSE-4?
Thanx, Eddie

Edmund, didn't have v4 but here is a screen shot of a raw image opened in v5. Hope this helps with your question.

Kim, I don't see any screen shot on my screen. Did it post or is it my computer blocking it out.??

Edmund, your computer must be blocking it. Try this regular link

Thank you Kim, The PSE-5 screen shot looks the same as I have in PSE-4. It doesn't appear to have any curves adjustment in the raw dialogue box.

No, there are none. However, there are some curves in PSE5. Presets, not actually the real curves as in Photoshop CS2. But this still be helpful.

Eddie, glad the screen shot helped. That was my first time doing it.:D PSE5 is a great program though.

You can add on a free curves filter that is more like the full-blown curves capability using the download at:

It appears to be an obscure site that isn't discussed much here. I started using it a few days ago and it seems to work fine, but I don't know if you can use it with raw pictures -- my guess is no.

I have already added the curves plug in PSE-4. So I don't see any real advantage to updating to PSE-5 at this time. I managed to purchase PSE-4 for $19,99 after discounts and rebates and still have PSE-3 loaded on my PC but primarily use PSE-4.
Thanx for all of your responses,
Eddie
