Since the purchase of my new camera, I have been having a great time taking loads of pictures. So often though I rush home to upload, sure I have got a great picture, only to be disappointed that it isn't anywhere as good as I had anticipated.
Until today! I took this one and feel I am learning and getting closer to getting those special pictures.
I would love to know if there is anything I should do to enhance this as I want to get this one printed and framed.
Please be honest, I can take it;)
I have adjusted the levels slightly - that's all so far.
I have to say, I took another one (or 6) at the same time, which had the dogs walking in line which was fantastic. Unfortunately the large rock was smack bang in the middle of the picture and ruined it all.
One day I will get that "perfect" shot:)

Thank you, I will be going to bed with such an ego.
I am so thrilled. I really wanted to know if I had missed anything obvious. I am going to experiment with a pinstripe edge and white map (I think I have the right terminology).
Thanks again

All that needs is a frame and a place to hang it. Heck not even the frame.:D
Great shot.

It's a super image...
Now it just comes down to preferences in what you want in the image... for example, if you wanted to you could select only the bottom half and lighten the shadows. This will give more delineation between the rocks, dogs etc and their shadows. But again, it's only about what kind of a look you want in the image.
It's beautiful!

Pat, thanks I will try that.
I did lighten the shadows very slightly when I did the levels, but didn't like the way it changed the clouds - completely forgot I could select:o
The crunch time will be tomorrow when I print it out on paper and see how it looks.

I think it's wonderful. Sometimes less is more - just let the image speak for itself as it already beautiful.

I agree w/others: Don't do anything to it.
The subject is interesting, the composition is excellent and that sky is absolutely magnificant!
This is a great picture.

I agree the picture is well taken and needs no additional work.
I have to ask about your thread title: Chuffed to bits-I originally thought you were mad at something, but this is not the case. Is this a common expression in your part of the world? I may have to steal it as it sounds so cool.

Linda......
Chuffed to bits and so you should be, it's a fabulous picture. If I wanted to be super critical I would slightly crop the bottom so the horizon becomes more on the third line rather than the half line, and then to keep the composition in balance a slight crop on the right hand side. I held two pieces of white paper up to my monitor see what it would look like, and I found it pleasing.........but you may not.:) :)

Thanks again everyone.
Ward - "Chuffed to Bits" - yes, very english. "Dead Chuffed" is another one as in "I'm dead chuffed I got that promotion":D :D
Robyn, sounds like good advice.
I will post it back here later today. Housework day today and I have just popped on here to whilst I have my cuppa:)

Thanks for all your input and here is the final product.
Once printed out, the shadows really did need lightening - the rocks were far too dark.
I have cropped it very slightly. If I took too much off the bottom I lost the cloud reflection and it didn't look complete. The same with the right, by cropping I lost the curve.

It looks really great, and I'm pleased that you have just put a simple frame around it, it doesn't need anything fancy..........in the running for IOW I should think! :D
