Hi,

I'm new to PSE 5.0 but I was hoping there would be a fairly easy way to make a large (in the range of 2ft x 3ft) life poster.

I saw this posting (http://www.mikematas.com/2005/01/how-to-make-life-poster.html) on how to do this with iPhoto, but would like to accomplish it with PSE 5.0 on my Windows PC?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bill and welcome. Not familiar with iPhoto but I don't see why you couldn't attempt this in PSE5. Start with File> New> Blank File, set your size to 24 x 36 inch and res to 200 and white background. When it opens do what you want for you background and the same as the iPhoto instructions for sizing the images you want to add and put them on their own layers.

BTW, We have another BillZ here to.

I believe Wendy know iPhoto and she should be around in a few hours as she is in the UK and probably sleeping now.

I am sure someone more knowledgable will come along soon to help more, but I don't know of any reason you couldn't do it. I am still learning PSE5 so I could be wrong

Hi ...

Hey I didn't know you could do that in iPhoto

You could do it manually in Elements but it would take quite a while to do ...

For those with a Mac, here is the link that describes how to create such a poster using iPhoto and Automator.

Here is what I did with that, using photos of my granddaughters:

It was a lot of fun to create!

Kodakgallery.com offers something similar they call a collage (http://www.kodakgallery.com/CollageOverview.jsp?).

You can have between 4-100 pictures in the collage, and finished sizes range up to 20"x30" for $29.99. There are options for borders and for tilt etc...

If you do it yourself I would suggest using 300 dpi - that is what most printers suggest for best quality.

Jane,

The Kodak Gallery Collage looks like a good way to go! Thanks for the pointer. It looks very easy to do. I think I'll try a smaller size first and see how it turns out. Thanks all for the input!
