Hi, friends.
Very new to PSE.
Is there a way to resize multiple images at a time, either with the Editor or the Organizer? I certainly know how to resize one image at a time, but what about 20 or 50?
All my pictures are taken at 2048 resolution, which is great for detail, but not for emailing or basic web viewing.
Thanks for any input.

Hi there ...
... and welcome to the forum :)
You should be able to resize using File>Process Multiple Files ...
Let us know if that is OK for what you are trying to do :)

Thanks for the help, Wendy. I'll have to try that when I get home, but I'm sure it will work fine.
I'm noticing you're quite the oracle around here. :D

Oracle...... Kinda makes me think of a fat bald guy in glasses.
I think 'The Elements Empress' fits better. (who started that, Mike?)

Hmm, maybe the picture from Grant's Challenge artist gallery?
But I guess you can't always believe everything you see on the internet!

Kerri,
The number of wrinkles I took out of that image using Photoshop is unbelievable ... and I redid my hair at the same time. My husband asked who it was.
The Elements Empress was Jan's name ...

Hi
I just downloaded a program called resizer. http://www.virtualzone.de/
I was looking for the same type of thing for my daughter. I just got in trouble because I set her camera to a higher resolution, so she could photoshop with more pixels. That means now she has to resize to email them to her friends..(this is the worst day of her life   ).
I'm not sure if it works, all I did was google resize or something. It looks as though all you do is highlight the files/photos youwant resized and it does them automatically ..to your size settings and naming convention.
You might want to have a look, Gary.

A really quick and easy way to resize is this:
Go to the organizer and select all of the pictures you wish to resize.
Go to "File--Attach to Email" (Don't worry, it won't really attach it to an email) .... what it really does is resize them to a folder in batch.
Under "format" in the dialog, choose "Individual attachments"
Once you hit "OK", you get a box showing it is done. Hit "show folder" and the folder the files went to will be displayed, displaying all of your newly created smaller files (this operation does not affect your originals.

In the Editor you can Go to File | Process Multiple Files and you will have the opportunity to resize, rename, and change resolution. You can also put the altered pictures in a new folder leaving your originals intact.
(I love this feature) :)

Now that does sound a useful feature of the Organiser ... being a Mac person I didn't know about that :)

Before I had PSE3, I used Irfanview. It is a free viewer that works very well. It can resize or rename in batch. It can batch convert also (i.e. gif to jpg)
