Be glad to try and help - I have a similar set up - but need to know what the problems you're having are before we can work out the solutions. Post the details or send me an email and I'll try and help

Hi' Tony and Good Evening.
Right ' my set up = win XP Home SP2.
My Printer = Epson Stylus Color 760.
I use A4 paper
1 I cannot get an 'all round' Border - say 5mm.
I have tried every setting i can think of but still get 5mm top and both long edges with about 8mm at the bottom.
It makes it quite difficult to mount the enlargements in a say 16 x 12 mount with an A4 aperture.
What i have to do is by A3 bioards and cut the Aperture to suit my prints.
Basically the '760' is quite good printer, but perhaps it is now getting a bit long in the tooth.
hear from you soon.
Regards from Edinburgh.

Jim
There was a link in the forums to a spot on Steves Digicams website regarding printing and border/borderless setups. Ill see if I can find it for you.

In looking at the 760 manual it looks as though it uses the same driver as one of my earlier printers so I'll take a stab at an answer.
Bear in mind that in North America we use letter size, not A4. A4 is about 6mm narrower and about 18 mm longer. How good some printers are at adjusting to this difference I don't know (but when I lived in the UK I had a terrible time printing documents sent from North America).
The 760 and similar printers aren't capable of borderless printing so you'll always have a margin. The normal print setting leaves a wider margin at the bottom than the top. You can extend the bottom margin by checking Maximum as the printable area setting but if you've already tried this and it doesn't get what you want then I'm afraid you're stuck with it.
Many of the newer printers will print borderless and that does give you more flexibility in fitting to frames and mats. That said, even with my borderless printer I still have trouble finding frames and mats to match and the paper trimmer still gets a good work-out.
Hope this helps

Here is the link I was looking for.

It doesn't address your problem directly, but it does give some insight as to how printers/drivers vary, and some possible snags you may have.
Hope this helps a bit, but I'm hoping Tony has a handle on the problem :)

Hi' Folks from Edinburgh.
Thank you all for your help.
it looks as though I am stuck with this.
However, I have partly solved the problrm myself.
I set the print sizes to 210mm x 297mm, then 'centred' what happens is an a4 print with about 1/8" border on three sides and about 5/16
I then must cut the aperture on my mounting board about 1/4" LESS than A4, mount the print, and whoopee - success.
hear from you soon.
regards.
