Good morning everyone...
I decided this morning to try to do something in Elements other than scrapbook pages. I took one of the photos of my mom's backyard in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and tried make a black and white photo with just one thing in color. It turned out ok for a first effort. It was really fun to do!!

Laura,
Love it. Selective colouring on a B&W is one of my favourite techniques too:)

Thanks Nancy and Bayla
My mom just loves it up there but my step-dad's health hasn't been so well. They usually go up there for the entire summer but she doesn't think they'll be going up for long stretches anymore. I thought about maybe getting more photos of the place, doing this kind of effect on all of them and putting them in a collage frame for Christmas for them for their new house. Any suggestions on making this look like a really old photo (maybe like tears, folds, scratches, anything like that?)
Thanks again
Laura

Did you color it red or just remove all the other color? Check out the red Gerbera daisy in my gallery. http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/view_img.php?id=13906

Bayla, thanks, I looked it up in the galleries. I didn't post it though because I wasn't for sure it was the right one. In this thread his name is ronstelzy and the gallery is ronstelzer.

Panos has an old photo action that works very nicely. You might want to check it out.

I have an unusual selective colored flower with butterflies in my gallery too. I sort of painted the edges of the picture too. It really is fun, isn't it? Andie

Thanks Bayla,
I used Magic selection brush on the red flower, then select>inverse>Enhance>adjust color>remove color.
