Only three entries so far this week! Bad theme?? Busy with halloween?? Hope we'll get lots of late entrants.
Steven - Very clever using record grooves for the stairs to kitty heaven. (And a good story about your cat's new game.) Record grooves was going to be next week's theme, now I have to think of something else.
Karen - Nice shot. I like all of the intersecting lines.

Great topic... just a bad week around here.
Time change pushed the clocks back, so now its dark (or dusk) when I get home. Plus overcast all week so no great shadows. Plus my fallback shot fell through.:D :D

Gary, fall-back shot indeed! :D
You always manage a great shot no matter - I really like the angle and close crop of your image.

And Gary is right on time with his shot...a few hours to the deadline!:D

I had a vision of our local water tower in my head.I thought the stairs were all zig zaggy to the top. Turns out it was just a ladder. I'm sure they changed them just to mess up my photo.:D :D
Steven
Waaaaayyyy ahead of schedule this week. ;) :D

Too funny Gary because I set out to get our water tower as well and found the same straight ladder - plus I couldn't get close enough to the darn thing without being knee deep in snow! Ah yes - Great Minds think alike.. :)

Gary, I just found your last image - right out of CSI !
Very good - how did you do that?

Only the greatest.:D
No snow here, but an 10' fence around it. Must have been those darn teenagers when I was a kid, writting their names on the tower.
Put another pic in to pad out the thread.
I really thought this one was going to take off.

re last image.
Well..... it was getting kind of dark here (the first one I used major levels to lighten).
All I did was use the dodge tool (set to lighten mode) to lighten some footsteps and the top of the wall.
With the steps being a sort of grey it picked it up nicely.
Btw I really liked the back alley shot.. wish I had of thought of it. After the water tower problem I drove around for about half an hour looking for some steps.

Good to see a bit more activity in the later part of the week.
Ellen - Steep and wonky indeed! Your shot draws the eye in to the point that just about everything else follows. Wonderfully done.
Pat - Your treatment found considerable beauty in a back alley location, and the backdrop really finishes it nicely. Glad to see you liked it enough to put in your gallery.
Gary - Sorry you had to rush:D. As always your photos are great. I like the uneven lines of the steps in #1, but the overall effect of the glowing footseps in #2 makes that one my favorite.

Bill - Thanks for doing this and I always like your intros. The steps on the trail are quite inviting but if it's as wet there as it is here it looks like time to jump puddles.
Steven - I like your image - the tune became an ear-worm as soon as I saw the theme. ( Your kitty's toys look like extras from Wallace and Grommit to me.)
Karen - That is a very nice and crisp shot, the lines do lead one's eyes all around the photo.
Pat - I really like your shot but do you have that much snow already?
Gary - As always you have wonderful shots, these two together were great fun. (BTW I got this quote not long ago. "Procrastination ensures that one always has something to look forward to.")

Thanks Bill and Ellen for your nice comments.
I'm afraid we're well into winter Ellen and well covered with snow. Plows are regularly out and I'm officially in hibernation! :D

Bill and Ellen- Thanks for the comments. I suppose "Stairway to Heaven" isn't too bad of an earworm Ellen, considering some of the other LP's I could have used!
