My son has been invited to his first turnabout dance. (sob he's growing up too fast). The dance is tomorrow (Sat Oct 28th) and since they are getting together before to do pictures I was looking for some advice. I've been viewing other galleries online and I love some of the prom/dance layouts I've seen. Do any of you have some suggestions as to what kind of poses/settings etc I should get them to do so that I can later enhance them by doing a great scrapbooking page?

Phew! Are you kidding???? Every time I asked my daughter to pose, I got the "Mommmmmm" comment. I really like the one where they are holding a large picture in front of them (in some galleries). So I tried to get her and her date to do that. He was very cooperative, but her???? forget it!!! I asked them to pose as if they were holding a large box....take a look at how the kids in the gallery are standing......
I wish you luck......you have a boy....he may be more willing to do what you ask, and of course, his date will be will to comply....
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!! Can't wait to see your photos!!! Post them here so we can see them!!!

I have a few in my gallery but they are pretty advanced posing and editing. I don't know your skill level so I don't want to get you in over your head. The globe I did was really pretty simple. Have them hold a soccer ball and get all set and focused and have someone pull the ball and snap 3 or 4 quick shots (before they start laughing about looking at empty hands) and then later you can create the globe using Wendy's snowglobe tut and drop in right into their hands. A little selective erasing to bring the fingers to the front to make it look like it was in their hands and you have a pretty cool effect that kids go nuts over.

I loved your gallery so much that I already had it bookmarked to show everyone who comes over. I just started learning PSE so I'm not sure if I could get it as good as yours but I'm certainly going to try. Thanks for the soccer ball tip I would have never thought about doing it that way. My son thinks it's pretty cool so hopefully he'll comply to whatever I ask him to do. I'll keep you posted.

Have fun with the pictures!
Catch some natural ones. You never know what will turn out and work for you once you get going! Also, take them apart and re-create later.
If other parents take pictures see if they will share, then you have more to play with
As for posing them...the usual side by side, a hug, on the stairs, with the flowers, with a mirror,
I have hundreds, no, probably more than that of various h.s. and college formal dance (pre -get togethers) .
I would be happy to e-mail you several ideas if you wish to look.
Answer her or pm me.
The homecoming in my gallery with the picture held was a tight hugging couple pose. I did not take any of those in that montage, her mom did and I was not even there!
