Just installed Internet Explorer 7 and the Photoshop E-mailer for Elements 3 crashes. I've uninstalled 7 and reinstalled Elements 3 and the problem persists. I've emailed Microsoft Support but am not very hopeful. Any one here have this problem>

Thanks

I've found that IE7 doesn''t work with much of anything. I have tried several times and had crashes. I tried writhing Microsoft about it with no answere. So I removed it until they get the bugs out .... Might be awhile.

It works fine for me with IE7 & Outlook 2003. What email client are you using?

Works fine for me too with IE7 and Outlook Express.

I have been using IE7 for a week now with no problems. I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003 for my email.
I never knew there was a Photoshop Elements Emailer. I have PSE4, and could not find anything about email.

I downloaded IE 7 on Wednesday and my Trend Micro Spyware would only operate in the background. Could not see any screen display. The emailer is Adobe Photo Emailer thats part of Elements 3 and I assume later editions. The error message is 'your photo could not be sent for some unknown reason.'Outlook Express sends the photo immediately back to me.

Can't comment on the Trend issue, I'm afraid. I know nothing about it. Check Trend's site for a IE7 compatible patch, I suggest.

However, if I try to use the Photo Emailer, that crashes for me as well.

Go into Edit>Preferences>Email and change your email client to Outlook Express. Instead of using the built-in emailer (which is presumably incompatible with the much newer IE7), this should invoke Outlook Express to send your email.

That's how I set up to use Outlook, presumably how Tony is set up with OE, so, hopefully, you'll be fine.

Hello All,
First Post. I have never had a problem with the email feature until this week. Emailed people and then asked what they thought of pictures but they never got them. Sometimes error text comes up, sometimes not. After reading as many posts as I could, I deleted Opera even though I had not started using it as my default browser. Went to system restore and lo and behold, I have no system restore points (I used to). Zone Alarm Pro doesn't have anything strange. Any other ideas?

Thanks

I am having exactly the same message everytime I try to send pics using Elements 3. It just started this week. I too have never had a problem with emailing using Adoble mailer. None of the photos I mailed out this week reached their desination using Adobe. Kathy

ALthough I've never used it it does sound as though Adobe has a problem with their emailer that's unrelated to other changes (IE7 etc) - there seem to be a lot of people having various Adobe emailer problems. Hope Adobe is getting the message and sorting it out.

I guess it would help if someone who does use it posted to say they don't have a problem and that the recipients are getting the emails. Anyone out there ???

Hi WCWTP,
I am grabbing at straws but it could be due to security updates through windows. When I log into microsoft and check for the automatic updates installed there are seven installed on the 13th (I have them updated automatically) and I have had the problem since. If this is a possibility, I still don't know why I sometimes get an error and sometimes everything seems to work normally but doesn't.

It really doesn't help unless I know which update to uninstall.

OK - I took up the challenge. I still have PSE3 installed so I just changed it to the Adobe emailer. Signed up, got the registration code back immediately via email. Entered it. Sent a picture (to one of my other email addresses). No crashes (and I'm using IE7 and have all the latest Windows updates).

Edit: Got both emails I sent about 2 hrs later.

Thanks for checking Tony.

Reefster, I too have the error message pop up only for some attempts. But the end result is the same even with no error message...no pictures on the other end. Kathy

Hi again Kathy and Tony,
I have deleted two automatic updates but still nothing coming into my inbox via Adobe, I really don't know how long it normally takes to come in. It is 2330 here in Belgium so I am going to bed and checking back tomorrow.

Hope we can get it, love the quick way to send photos instead of the betterphoto web site I belong to.

Well I got both emails I sent after about 2 hrs. If I read the message headers right there were no delays once it got through the adobe emailer (which seems to be adobemailer.com). If I check out that site I get:

We're sorry, the service you requested is currently unavailable.
In the meantime please explore the other areas of Adobe.

Thank you for your patience.

Makes me think that Adobe do have a problem with their mailer although some things are getting through eventually.

I post this reply on another problem that someone had with OE and PSE. They said that it worked for them. If you try it please be able to out to systm restore and choose a date previous to your download. Here is my post:
I had the same problem with version PSE 3 and I found this fix and it worked. I am sending you the url for the fix KB 918766. After you open the url go down the page to resolution and download the KB918766 and install it. Be sure to restart your computer after doing this or it will not work. Let me know if it takes care of your problem.

Well without doing anything to the computer...I am suddenly able to send pics via Adobe mailer. Go figure!!! Just within the last hour I have been successful with all of the test photos I sent out. I am even getting back photos I sent to myself early this morning. I hope whatever was wrong is now fixed. I really like the convenience of sending photos off quickly using Adobe. Thanks for the help! It is reassuring to know this forum is here!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed I don't return with the same problem :) Kathy

i started this thread a day back. reading thru all the responses was an eyeopener. not everyone has had the same experience. in any event, my adobe emailer has started working normally. all the photos i sent out after three days were suddenly delivered. perhaps someone from microsoft is reading our board. that's good news. thanks all for working on this issue.
