I'm planning on a new computer in the near future. Mine is 4 years old and I'm getting nervous. My question is, am I better off burning the PSE 5 file on a CD or just downlaoding it and installing it from the web site when my new computer is here? I'll have so much to reinstall, I'd like to do this as easily as possible, but it will be great starting with a new, clean hard drive.

I would think that a new download from the web-site is the best place to go. That way you get the latest version. As I recall when I got mine on-line you can download as often as you need.

Good luck Susan. It's always scary when you change computers, or even upgrading programs. I lost data before on computer upgrade, so I'm leary about everything I do now. Some new computers come with software that lets you copy all your programs from your old computer to your new computer. Your smart for doing the research in advance.

Hello Susan,
I suggest an external hard drive, do first a full backup, then individual backups, for example; use the backup catalog option from PSE. The advantage of an EHD is that all you have to do is disconnect/connect and restore or copy the folders that you want.
