Resizing Images

I can't figure out how to resize one single image alone. Everytime I select a single image and click image, resize, it resizes everything and every layer. I only want to be able to resize a single layer. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi Jayman ...

To resize something on a single layer try this:

Make sure that the layer is active and then select the move tool and click on the image.
A box will appear around object on the layer ... this is the bounding box. Just click in one corner of the box and you will then be able to adjust the size by moving the sides of the box in and out.

To add to this: Hold the Shift key while doing it, that will keep the proportions constrained.

I am trying to resize an image to upload and I can't seem to get it small enough. I am using PS3. I wanted to upload it here and see what you guys think.

Donna,

If you're saving an image for posting online, under Image > Resize > Image Size, change the resolution to 72 (if it isn't already) then save it using File > Save For Web, choose .JPG for format. Also on that screen you can manipulate the size and quality to get it within the restrictions you need to post it online.

I have done this resizing thing over and over andi t wouldn't work. I tried today and no problem. This is the first picture I've done with layers. What do you think? This one was easy. Not alot to it..LOL Thanks for your help.

The photo is very nice. I enjoy that technique of selective color.
Just keep at it, and ask questions. It does come together and clearer
over time.
Notice I said clearer, and not clear. I still hit the mud!;)
