I have this WWII picture of my brother-in-law's deceased father (sepia tone), which I scanned. I wanted to make his Navy (winter blues) colorized, the stripes white and the eagle on his left arm whiter. First of all I turned it to a black/wlhite and proceeded. It seems I wind up with at least 10-15 layers and then I get lost. I have layers for the eyes, hair, uniform, etc. DO I also clean up the background if I am going to use an American Flag as the background for this Navy man? I am a beginner, trying to learn, could use some good advice. I want so much for this to look nice, not like a novice did it. Something he and I can be proud of. Thanks Pat
Forgot and had to edit: the skin has a sepia tone too and the enhance for skine tone did not work on that either.
