Hey, Instaed of cleaning house....I would go to the beach if I still lived in Florida!
Born in raised in Daytona Beach (ok...until I was ten years old...). I still claim the title of "native".

It's too COLD today to go to the beach. The high is only 70 (I think)
and it started out at 51 this morning. Then really cold again tonight.
Windows were open for a bit today, but might need the heat later on..
I did finish dusting. I use the brand with the gold cap!

m,
My heart bleeds for you, Kid. It's actually 45 degrees out today and that IS the high. 70 is PERFECT. I love it when it's about 68 to 70. Anything more and it's too hot. Am I giving away my age?

I'm really upset that you wasted my time by forcing me to read the other thread.
But what really got me riled were the three hoodlums who hijacked this thread.

There is probably some poor soul who has posted a real question on the forum, but can't find help because all the experts are drinking in the gold text thread.
Gary, glad I could be of help for once!

You guys are too funny, GOLD seems to be the in thing. I live in GA and its in the 30's at night and 60's during the day. If I lived close to the beach, I think I would go every day. The closest beach to me is about 4 hrs so I don't go that often. I love any pictures of the beach, especially sunrise and sunset, so if you have pic's of beaches please share them with me. A nice Golden suset is beautiful.

I posted in the golden thread, but I do have sunsets. I
placed one in my gallery.
You are welcome to them, let me know.

I have golden sunsets in my galerry too - although I've not done anything fancy with them, except for one that has "gold text". (and it had the gold text long before that "other" thread every came along.)

Msbrad and Jane, I just looked at your galleries, great pic's. Jane the little girl is adorable, she is beatiful and looks like she may have a bit of mischief in her; Msbrad, your sunset picture is gorgeous, I like the effect you added, wish I were there. Thanks for sharing. I need to look at the galleries more often to get ideas for my own pictures.

Hmmm. gold text on it. i had not thought of that!
this thread sure keeps the creativity going, and it is so much fun. Glad you like the montage. It is sort of an example of a bunch of tutorials and then an accidental creative mess that I decided I liked for the background.

Ok, my husband has left the house. Forbid me to have any thing to drink at the computer as I was laughing so hard reading the "Gold Text" thread. I thought the sheep jumping thread was hysterical but this one is a class by itself!
I do appreciate Brent pointing how to post questions on the forum!

Michelle:
I really like that Homecoming collage you did. Where did you get the frame?? Also, how did you do the background.....that is really nice. I still need to work on Maryellen's homecoming pictures!!! Since their school colors are purple and GOLD, I am keeping within the confines of the gold text issue. Oh, no, wrong thread....:o

I didn't see it the first time around either. Thanks for starting my day with a smile. As far as the beach goes, we're scheduled to have our first snow tomorrow night. It's not normal for that here till the end of Nov. In August we never got any hot days and we've been a month ahead of normal since then. I hate it. I'm cold. This is Massachusetts and it's 30 degrees this morning. It's not fair!!!

Colleen,
I apologize, just re-read your post above. I must have skipped over it last night.
anyhow, on homecoming:
the background started out by taking the eyedropper and slurpping up the burgandy color of her dress and then filling a layer with that.
I made a gradient of that color from burgandy to either white or transparent. I think white as I went back and forth several times. This was my first made and saved gradient!
Filter>distort> liquify with a fair size brush and just moved things around until I liked it.
I made sure to save along the way as i did not really know what I was doing.
The frames around both pictures were in custom shapes. I then filled them with one of the pre-set patterns.
Not at home now, so not sure which one it was. Returned to filter>distort> liquify and moved those pixels around a bit.
Added the outline on a sep. layer.
The "couple' pic of them holding the frame was originally a very tight hug (hmmm.) ;) I separated them and then needed to do a little re-constructive surgery to complete.
Hope that helps
