Too many folders from my first download

Downloaded 60 photos from camera to my own file system place.

Expected one folder for the download but got one folder per date of taking.

This will produce a wildly long file system for my usage. Is there anyway to control this?

What are you using PSE4 or 5?
For 5, I get a screen that pops up when I am about to import my photos from my card reader and it asks me if I want the subfolders by date or if I just want a single file for date of import.

I opted for the subfolders since I shoot so many in any given shoot...so it works better for me.
