Ummm....but he's a guy. How do I know for sure? Because we had him arrested for exposing himself to me and my kids. Yeah - he's wierd.

...exposing...OK... there's something wrong with THAT!! :(

I didn't realize there was an actual problem, or I would not have made the comment the way I did.

Oh Byron - that's not a problem. I agree - he can be Carmen Miranda all he wants - but in a halloween parade with little kids is wierd because I KNOW the reason. Creepy! The bikes are pretty fun though. They travel all over the country doing parades so some of you may have seen them too. Two years ago one of the guys came into our yard and asked permission to commune with the oak tree. My husband said ...well....never mind ... but he didn't commune with our tree. :D

I wish I could find one big enough!:D 6 foot privacy fences work pretty good too - especially when you make them 7 foot - but don't tell the city inspector!

Good stuff so far ... congratulations to everyone!

Valerie - Both of your entries were nice. The crispness of #1 along with the salt dome make me feel the cool of winter coming. And the truck in #2 looks like a very worthy museum addition. I hope you'll get to post your side-by-side shot after the restoration.

Mary - That photo has more stories in it than pumpkins. Really a nice autumn feel to it, too.

Tracker - Thanks for entering. That's a great shot of a classic ride! Where was it taken??

Tracy - Your image is really stunning. The B&W works perfectly and I like the perspective of the tire against the bike shadow. Very nice.

Nancy - What a fun entry! (... except for "the rest of the story" which is revolting.) You're really tolerant to accept the "ride" at its artistic face value. Congratulations on both counts.

Janet - That's a very good portrayal of 'the final ride'.

Alice - Nice to see Molly ... even if only briefly:D .

Kim - The international rules committee has decided to allow your entry ... because it's so darn good;) . Nice job ... and a good idea to show the before and after. I'm hoping to take that class next month ... looks like it's a good one.

Ellen - Bravo. Please put that in your gallery so it can be considered for image of the week. I hope you'll tell us about it.

Keep them coming in!

I thank you too, Bill. The carousel is lovely and I like that you had the cat most in frame. The tickets are a very nice touch -did you make them?
Thanks for your kind words on my neighbor's resting VWs. They've been parked there for a while now (I hate to think how long since I remember borrowing them)and since the rain is back the moss is decorating them again.
It's been a nice challenge.
Val - both trucks are well shot I'd like to see #2 when it gets it's spot too.
Mary - A very nice shot and much better yard decoration than those nasty inflatable things that seem to be breeding.
Tracker - Your post did work quite nicely and looks to be a fine ride to me. If that's your garage what is on the floor?
Tracy - That is a great shot! The shadow and contrast are really striking.
Nancy - I too liked the bike way more before knowing a bit about your neighbor.
Janet - Yipes! Very nice photos but it looks like a last ride for someone too young.
Alice - Why aren't I surprised that you have a past history with hippie busses? Molly's first sled ride is yet another swell animation but I thought there was a rule against Christmas lights until after Halloween at least.
Kimi - A good photo made better by what looks to be a very effective technique.
Judy - Ernie looks happy, glad that there are still tonka trucks around.
Steven - Nice to see how B'ham stays tidy. I'll be whining about the time change - dark too soon in the evening, but I don't have to get up early.

Judy - that's a fun entry. Ernie looks right at home in his ride.

Steven - Yes, daylight sure has been arriving later.... but wait ... tomorrow it starts an hour earlier again. Good entry ... are the power cords for keeping the engine blocks warm??

Ellen - thanks for the nice comments. Yes, the tickets are homemade. I'm glad to see your new gallery addition ... I really think it's a great photo. Thanks again.

Ellen- I too liked the old VW's in your shot. I grew up having VW's since I learned to drive; two Bugs, a Karmen Ghia, a van and a squareback. They lost me on the Passat though, nothing but trouble, and as of May this is the first time in 20 years I haven't had a VW under ownership.:(
My van was my favorite, as it took us on some great roadtrips. Here we are seen in 1989 on the return day to Western WA. after 4 months on the road. We drove to 48 states, 15,000 miles. We had our share of car adventures with a bad shifter in New Mexico, me taking out the clutch cable in Mississippi and having a hard time getting it back in, a lovebug swarm in Florida to where we had to pull over to scrape them off the windshield, and my favorite happening in north central Montana. We forgot to latch down the top one morning and were cruising at about 60 mph through the Blackfoot Reservation when the top flew up. Luckily it didn't fly off. It got us through though, and I miss it. A few years back I had one car too many so I gave it to a friend who needed wheels. I traded it for a bottle of scotch. He drove it a few years and now it rests in the weeds at the back of his property. I visit it now and then to let it know I haven't forgotten all the fun it provided.

By the way, you make a cameo in the photo in my gallery of the black light haunted house. I guess you can now take the above picture of me and make me even scarier looking; I probably have it coming!:D

Gary - I really like the depth in your entry, nicely done. I've gotta say I'm a little surprised that yours was the first train we've seen.

Thanks.. I was too... but lucky for me.

I had a backup plan of the auto auction yard .. that is always a sight to see.. acres and acres of cars.

Good thing the gate at the train yard was open  the weather is not cooperating today.

Gary,

Great image! I'm curious as to what kind of train this is, commuter or some type of go-train?

A very nice looking one for sure...

Pat

Both:D

It is a commuter Go that only runs from G'town to Toronto (a few stops in between) 3 times in the morning and the same at night.
