I have just installed 3.0 and cannot open the Help File. Verstion 2.0 of Elements is still installed. Is this causing a conflict?

Hi William,
Welcome to the forums... :)
Are you on XP SP2 by any chance?

Mac users have had problems with this one too ...
... but in either case it certainly isn't due to having PSE2 still installed. A lot of people have more than one version installed and there isn't any conflict in that :)

Thanks for letting me know that it's not just me. I'm feeling pretty stupied when something as simple as accessing Help does not work.

Mike, thanks for the welcome. Yes, I'm on XA with SP2. Is that a clue to the problem? My PC has 384 MB of memory and a 1.4 megahertz AMD processor. Everything is turned off in Startup so all memory is available to Elements except for what Windows uses. Reinstalling 3.0 did not correct the problem but I did not go throug the Remove process before reinstallation. Maybe I need to. :?

William,
Yes, SP2 is known to cause problems with help files on a number of Adobe products... although I am on SP2 and it works ok...
This came up a long while ago on the Forum and this is the solution that was posted:
The Help that shows in your taskbar (on the bottom) just RIGHT click it and choose MAXIMIZE and that will bring it up or should. After that it works every time.
Let me know how you get on...

Mike, I'm getting on just fine, thanks to you. The right-click with Maximizie corrected the problem. Strange that it took a right click. I only tried left-clicks and got nowhere. Anyway, I'm off to the races.
Thanks,
Bill
