This is one of the lost posts. When I rotate an imagine 90 degrees, the picture elongates. I use Image/Rotate/90. Is there another way to do it? I am getting a crick in my neck from editing sideways.

Try something for me:

Do image>Rotate>90%
Does it still look long and thin ?? ...

... if so try double clicking on the hand tool
does that change anything?

This really is a confusing one ..

Hi Wendy, that was quick. No, the hand tool does nothing. This has been happening since I loaded 3.0.
Can you answer another question, we just returned from two months in Southern Africa. I would like to take the outline of a map of Africa (scanned from a magazine), then put my own photos within that outline. How would I do that???

Yes of course I will help :)

Use the lasso to select the outline of Africa and then do Edit>Copy and Edit>Paste that will put a new layer above your image call it Africa.

Open the image you want to add and do Select>All, Edit>Copy

Go back to the Africa image ... make sure that the ouline is still selected (If not just open up the layers pallet and control click on the Africa layer)
Now do Edit>Paste into selection

That should do it ... I'm still thinking about the other one :(
