View Full Version : What do you do with a page when you are done?

I am engrossed in this whole new way to present photographs. I would never have the patience or the time to scrapbook with all of the tools, supplies, etc.

Once a layout has been completed, what do you do with your finished products? If you take the files to a printer (for example your local Costco or other place that prints out final products better than you can with an inkjet), do you then attach the pages to a "real" scrapbook? Do you frame them?

Just curious to see what others do with their final products. Thanks!

I have been printing my pages out at home and using 8 x 8 albums to insert the pages. My new printer will print 12 x 12 pages but I am really liking the 8x8 size.

Printing out is something I rarely do ... mine just go into one of my "computer" photo albums.

Then I add a little music and play the slide shows :)

put them in a scrapbook with insert pages, I post them to a scrapbook web site I visit, I post them to Photobucket and share with out of state family.
Some are framed, some on my fridg, some I don't print at all.

That's the beauty of it.....you can do what ever you want with which ever way works best for you. :D

There are printers now (Epson makes one, and so does HP) that print 12x12 pages, which is the size of most traditional scrapbook pages. So one option is to print your own. Another option is to take them to a professional printer to print, using archival paper.

You can also create a scrapbook page of any size. There are so many options available now in digital scrapbooking. And so many products out there designed to make digital scrapbooking simple and fun. From entire packages, complete with book and templates for each page, to themed kits for special occasions, even photo books that you print out yourself on your ordinary home printer and assemble on the spot.

And don't forget to click on Create in Elements 3, which will take you to some features that allow you to upload photos into your own photo book, which is then sent to Kodak for printing. In about 2 weeks, you receive your beautifully bound book, with all your own words and pictures, back in the mail.

We'll be highlighting some popular scrapbooking products in the coming months...

Thanks Jan.

I am always looking for scrapbook things and so much of the stuff is for traditional. I check on the internet but that is such a long process and I don't have DSL so I usually have to give up searching after about an hour.

Okay. Here's one that I just finished. It features my Golden Retriever. This is too much fun! Of course, no work was done in my house today. Just playing on the computer! (Thanks to Matt K. for the tutorial on the post-it and paper clip!)

Wow, those pix look like they are floating a foot above the background!

(Isn't there another Golden Ret. person around here too? I've forgotten who.)

This one is a compilation of some pictures of my dad on his 80th birthday. I used the color picker to get his shirt colors for some of the background colors. Guess they are a lot like the ones of the dog!

There's a video tutorial on how to create the post-it and paper clip somewhere on this site. I am not sure, though, if you have to be a subscriber to the newsletter to access it.

Thanks for the compliment!

you can use your own printer to create a scrapbook.

Epson has a new product called the Epson StoryTeller where you can print and assemble a hardcover book yourself.
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/Landing/StoryTeller.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes

There is also another product called the BreezKit which i stumbled upon while doing a google search for photo books. They offer a similiar kit at cheaper prices. check it out at www.digifilmlabs.com

The BreezKit does NOT provide any software to print pages and relies on third party programs such as Photoshop Elements! to create the pages whereas the Epson Kit includes software to put together a book.

They sound really interesting ... thank for the links.

Have you been working on any special project?

I print out in the 8x8 size most of the time. I have a Canon printer that will print 12x12. I love it because you don't have to replace a half used cartridge of ink because one color has run out. It has individual carts for each color..

I would post a picture of a finished page but I'm not quite sure how to accomplish that yet. I'll have to check this out.

Punkinsmom,
Welcome! We'd love to see your work! Here's the easiest way to post:

Resize your picture so the longest side is about 750 pixels or so. (Makes it easiest to see the whole thing without scrolling.)

Then go to www.pixentral.com and upload the picture. It will give you a url to copy and then paste into a message here to tell us to go see it!

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

I was wondering how a few folks have managed to include their pics in the body of the message though.

Yep, Linda just amazes me. How does she find the time to come up with all these great tutorials.

I also did individual boards of each pup. I'll post them later, no need to show them off too much LOL!

The individual boards for each pup sounds nice .. it must have taken you quite a while to do that. :)

Oh they are so lovely ... you have made a really nice job of doing them.

I had to smile at the "haircut" theme ... that is so cute :)
