A couple words before I get to this week's theme. First of all thanks to Will for posting the themes for the last few months ... they've been a lot of fun. Thanks also Will for letting me sit in for awhile again.
I've got some ideas for the next few weeks, but I'm also looking for your input, so if you have some ideas, send me a pm and I'll try to get them in.
This week's theme is stamps, coins or tokens. Should be easy subject matter so be sure to pay attention to capturing the colors and details.

I hope we can get lots of people involved, so spread the word.
Bill
The fine print:
Because the purpose of the weekly theme is to get us more familiar with our cameras and to sharpen our photographic skills, entries should be taken during the week of the theme.
Photoshopping is allowed.
To make this thread more manageable to view, please post only your entries in this thread. Post your comments in the accompanying 'comment' thread.
Be creative and have fun!

My wife calls me a pack rat but I say I am a "collector." These transit tokens from around the country have come to me in various ways, most I found in purchased packs of tokens from when I rode the bus during my college days.

Both photos are self explanatory. Over the years, I have been trying to save 4 coins of the same one/set to give half each to my son & daughter.

OK - here is the story. Back in the 60's and 70's I was working for an insurance adjuster. On the side I did a job for them keeping track of all the police reports that were called from adjusters in the Greater Vancouver area. (I cannot believe I did that job by hand and an adding machine back then). When I stepped down from the job there were a lot of stamps left over and the association just told me to keep them. I still have an envelope full. Believe me back then a 20 cent stamp was a big deal!!

These are ration stamps from World War II. I remember my mom and my grandma trading stamps to get sugar, etc.

Hope it's OK to add another one. This was in with the transit tokens, and I have no idea where I got it. It looked like "Papa and Mama" were bringing home a souvenir from the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904.

Here's a trade token from the most unlikely place I can think of to be into poodles. Hoquiam was a boom/bust sort of logging and fishing town on the the coast of Washington. In it's day the area was a hot bed of socialists and wobblies, now it is trying to reinvent itself.

This is a thank you card I received from a colleague today. Always a treat to get a note, but even nicer when it can be used in a photo challenge.:D

The stamp is from Hungary, issued to commemorate the poet Ady Endre.

I know this isn't coinage, but the famous (at least to Canadians) paper tokens from The Great White North made for a fun exercise in my Cards with Flair class!Hope you enjoy this money holder!(Well,at least it's funny to us...but then with our long winters, just about anything is funny to us.)
