Is Photoshop Elements 5 similar to 3 or 4? I've been taking the online class for layers which is for Elements 3 or 4. I've been using the trial of Elements 4 and need to decide whether to buy it or get Elements 5. Is there much difference?

Hi- If you're starting from scratch, I would recommend getting the latest version- PSE5.

Yes I would go for PSE5 too ... when you are starting off with Elements its always worth getting the latest version :)

Wasn't true when Paintshop Pro 9 came out. It was buggy as all get out. But it was the latest version!. But from what I have been reading Photoshop Elements 5 it is way better than version 4. :)

Scrappygal, welcome to the forum. I have PSE3 and for the past several days I have been playing with the trial for PSE4 (downloaded it because Adobe showed it to be the PSE5 trial). I have been following what everyone else is saying and doing with PSE5 decided not to wait for the trial, I purchased it this morning and can't wait to get it as it appears to be so much better than 3 and 4. I haven't found too many differences in them but 5 looks very promising to not be a disappointment.
