If you had the ability to upgrade to CS2 for $150 or upgrade to PSE 5 for $66 where would you put your money?

At that price I'd probably do both :D

If I had to choose I'd go with CS2

It all depends on your needs. CS2 lacks the wizards and many auto adjustments PSE5 has, it doesn't ship with art work and other goodies. CS2 is scriptable, has editable layer styles, etc.

Have you thought of downloading the CS2 demo? That'll be the best thing to do before deciding, I think.

Hi ...

I go along with Ray try downloading the demo and see what you think ... but my personal choice would be CS2 :)

It really depends on how much you want to do. For the price my choice would be cs2. I have cs2 and elements 3 currently and work between the two of them depending on what I want to do. cs2 has a lot more capabilities.

Dang ... (the sound of many bubbles bursting.) Still kicking myself for not taking advantage of the PSE upgrade offer last month. Maybe they'll offer it again.

Thanks for the info TJC and Ray.

I did not know about CS3 in the spring. I may just wait and see if they offer an upgrade path to that version.

I purchased CS2 and I think that is the direction I will head in for now. I much prefer theBridge in CS2 to the Organizer and I never use the auto features in Organizer. I passed on PSE4 and disabled the Organizer in PSE3 so I guess I have already chosen what I want to "grow" into. :) (PSE5 might appear on my list to Santa though)

TJC,

These very attractive upgrade offers tend to appear towards the end of a versions life cycle. I don't imagine you'll be able to grab CS3 at $150.
