As detailed within my other message, I had a problem saving files in Elements 5 but the problem is now fixed.
Apparently it was an issue issolated to my computer's configuration (I had made vanity changes to the XP virtual memory, which should have been left alone). Issue/solution detailed in my other message, but it particulars are inside baseball.
Suffice to say that since I identified the issue the program now works well. I have not formally put 5.0 through its paces to see if it is appreciably better than 4.0; however, it is certainly as good and not worse.
My only residual issue is a minor one: the organizer program window opens with the title bar off screen. Menu options are displayed and run just within the screen borders; however the maximize/minimize icons in the upper-right hand corner off the title bar are off screen and inaccessible.
Accordingly the organizer program window cannot be manipulated: moved, shrunk, maximized to fill the screen. Conversely, the Editor program window shows these icons and the window title within the screen. The editor window can be manipulated.
I appreciate everyone's rapid and thoughtful comments to my last post.
Thanks again.
