I have a map in which I would like to create circle shapes around various cities with partial opacity so that I can still see the map information underneath. The problem I am having is that when the circles overlap, the color gets darker in those areas because there are two layers together. I want the same color to apply on all shapes even when they overlap. I figured out how to do this with one layer but I want to keep each shape on a separate layer so that I can modify the original easily as changes are made to the map. Any help would be apprecited.

Thank you.

you could use the eraser brush on a 50% opacity and erase the portion on the one layer where they overlap

Hi ...

...and welcome to the forum :)

Another way would be to leave the opacity at 100%, merge all the layers with circles and then lower the opcaity of this new layer ... I think that should work OK ..

Do let us know how you go on :)
