Making a Simple Globe

In Wendy's Tut Making a simple Globe, at step number 5, she says:

Don't deselect yet. Now create another new layer and call it "highlight" Set your foreground colour to white, change the gradient tool to Linear Gradient, white to transparent and drag as I have shown here.

I need help with white to transparent? I have no idea what is meant by this phrase.

Hi Charles ...

One of the gradients in the default set is foreground to transparent ... so just set your foreground colour to white and you will then be able to use that one :)
