Hi Everyone! I'm a new member and I'm SO EXCITED to be here. I've been lurking around for weeks. I thought you had to subcribe to be able to participate in the forum. My first dumb question....What are the benefits to subscribing? I've looked at alot of galleries and my hope is to learn how to create some amazing pictures like you all have done. I'm a very new user of PSE4. I bought the book by Deke McClelland, Photoshop Elements 4 one on one, to help me learn. I am looking forward to meeting everyone. Brenda

Hi Brenda ...
... and welcome to the forum :)
There are quite a lot of benefits to subscribing as you get access to the subscriber area which has over 140 Video tutorials and around 80 written tutorials in it ... plus there are downloads and extras in there too. New things tend to be added each week so it just gets bigger and better all the time.
Then you also get the printed Newsletter 8 times a year (its really more like a magazine) and you get your own Gallery here with space to post some of your images ...
Cost isn't too much and it really is well worth it ...

Hi Brenda,
I'm a noob here, too. I lurked for a long time, learned a ton of stuff, noticed that there was nothing but praise for membership, so I signed up about 3 or 4 weeks ago.
IMO the main benefit of being a member is access to the "Subscriber Area" where you'll find a whole lot of tutorials and videos that make things a lot easier. They're produced by people who know what they're doing and know how to communicate their knowledge.
There's a printed newsletter, too, but I haven't received my first one yet, so I can't comment. It comes out about 8 times a year, or so.
If you're serious about learning Photoshop Elements, this is a great place to come, and membership makes this forum even more useful.
Have fun,
Steve

I have that book too, and it is very good! I must tell you, I learned more from the subscriber section and this forum than I learned from all the books that I have and I have many:o
Much of what you will see in galleries got their start from a tutuorial.
You will not be disappointed in subscribing!

All the praises posted about the Forum are absolutely correct. I have been using PSE for years. I think I have every version, except for 5, and I hope to get that version for Christmas. I have missed out on a lot of great stuff. I have help books and a few CD tutorials but none has helped me as much as the subscriber section. Like you, I kept an eye on the forum for a couple of months before joining. Totally worth the money. I enrolled for 1 year, now I wish I had subscribed for 2, it seems new ways to be creative are posted just about every day, and YES it is addictive. The people are great, they spend their time giving helpful hints and criticism in a nice way when its needed. Plus the Quick Time tutorials are great, you can pause the video and go back into PSE and follow along, very helpful! Wendy's helpful tutorial are very helpful also. You can print them and see every step she takes when editing. Like every one has said, great web site and well worth the money.

After several months of just looking around here too, I joined the Subscriber Area. Am I correct that in joining, I will receive the newsletter that comes out 8 times a year or do I need to subscribe to the newsletter? I've read about folks receiving the newsletter in the past few days and haven't received anything.
And I'd like to add, the folks here are great. I've not posted much, but when I've had a question, someone quickly replied with helpful info.

Too late...already addicted!!! I can't spend the time I want on the computer playing. This morning it was only 15 minutes. I work full time out of the home and have a husband and three teenagers active in sports. The kids sports are my favorite subject. Your galleries are all AWESOME!! I can't wait til I can do these projects! Brenda

Rita Sue, it takes a while to receive the newsletter. I joined recently also. I printed a copy of the newsletter from the Elements web page. I can't wait until the Christmas creations start to see all the stuff these folks come up with.
