Hello,

I'm a newbie and have a two part question if you all don't mind helping me out.

I'm using Photoshop CS and I screen captured an example of what I would love to create. I attached the jpg.

The first question is how do I adjust the text so that each letter is closer together?

Secondly, the border in the example is perfectly hard edged on the outside AND inside. Is there a way for me to do that? I tried using the stroke but it comes out rounded. I also try using the stroke>expand from the top menu and that also is rounded.

Thanks so much !!

Hi Limontree

Welcome to the forums. :)

While this is a Photoshop Elements site, I'm sure somebody around should be able to help out.

I don't have CS but I thought there was a way to change the type spacing using that program. If not, you could always put each letter on it's own layer and just move the layers closer together.

Not sure about the outline.. sorry.

Hi ...

... and welcome to the forum :)

When you have typed in your text click on the Character palette (top of the screen just to the right of the T with an arc under it. One of the boxes over on the right of the palette changes the spacing :)

To get the stroke ... double click on the layer thumbnail to bring up the layer styles palette, click on stroke and go into the stroke menu change the position to centre. Hopefully that will sort it out for you :)
