Well my sister just left with her almost 1-year old baby girl. They visited for 13 days here. I want to make a quick book for my niece to remember her time here. I was going to print photos with faces only...maybe add words like "aunt" "cousin" on each so it can be a learning tool for her too. I have a laminator and thought to tie off the binding with ribbons. Any other ideas? I dont want to make it really big - maybe 5x5" at max?? Anyone have some ready made template sources I could do this quick? I'd like to pop it in the mail today with her package of stuff I have to send off.

EDIT -- I just played with the bound book option under creations - maybe this would be perfect. My niece LOVES books!! How wonderful to create a book of her visit here!!

There are a lot of places that you can have softcover book printed: viovio.com, mypublisher.com... Shutterfly.com offers a 4x4 option...

Beatrice,
They have some really cute quick templates at Canon and they are free.

Well, with some hummin' n' hawin' I decided to go with picaboo ... the book will cost only $16.72 and it has 27 pages. I had a coupon for free shipping ($4.99 or $7.99 for ground).

Here's the final product - I think this link will work.

What a wonderful idea - you're book is awsome! I love the pictures with the story of her visit. Caroline will be very excited to have a book all about her and her visit to Auntie in Japan. I'm sure sje will treasure it forever.

well done... the book is precious. One thought would be to order an extra book to give her on her 18th birthday... long ways away I know but how special would that be!!

Whew! Thanks all... I am so glad you could view it and enjoyed it so much!! I ordered the smaller 8x6". It was $16 vs. $43 or something like that. What a price jump! It was a joy to make - a tad limited, but automated so I didnt spend WEEKS on it with PSE. I could've made some more custom pages (found out towards the end) as JPG files, but I just didnt want to deter from completing the project in time. The process was a bit flexible and enjoyable with picaboo. That name is so cute, isn't it??

The fonts were Veranda 16pt at the smallest on some captions. I dont think that will affect the print version. I do think it is special. I should've ordered one for myself now that I think about it!! I can always do that again...and the online version should keep too (I can always re-save it).

Thanks! I am STLL waiting on pins and needles! It was delivered UPS on Friday but she was leaving that morning for a few days. I have ONE more day to wait... ugh. It's agonizing!

OH -- if you sign up for an account, you will probably get an email for 50% off your first book - so wait a week (if you can) after signup to order your book. It's worth the wait. My first offer had free ground shipping too.

Enjoy!! I am going to go back and get all my Japan photos in an album. I am debating if I should put captions on locations only, or write about each one. We shall see...
