This is in relation to the excellent online training tutorial on image resizing but may be a useful query in general.
I was wondering if there was any point in resizing an image within the editor when the print options within PE3 let you choose a 6x4 or 8x10 etc. Do the print size options resample the image or does it do something similar to resizing without the resample option ticked in the editor?
I hope you see what I mean, I have trouble understanding myself ..myself!..... :?

Spyder,

I would recommend that you resize for printing in PSE3 - that way you can control the size and resolution. I have a "master" copy of pictures which I then resize for printing...

Yes, your printer will "resample"... if try to print 72 dpi 6"x4" image at 10"x8" then your printer will "resample" to make the image fit 10"x8" but using the same number of pixels.

Hi Mike

What if I load in an image, say just to brighten it up a little but don't do anything else to it, with my camera this leaves me with a 2580 x 1932 default image size in best mode, then I select to print it and choose a normal 6x4 photo size. What does PE3 do with the image in this case?
From appearances it doesn't seem to affect the image so that's where I'm confused.
Show me where I got lost please!
