Much happier with this result. My selection of the dolphin is much cleaner, added a colored background, frame and lowered the opacity of the shadow as suggested.

Bob,
nice one, nice clean selection. One suggestion, Lower the opacity of the shadow layer, it's a little overpowering.

Bob  :o
What is one of the first things you learn with PSE or Photoshop? Don't flatten your layers until you are positive you will NEVER want to change the image :) Oh well what is done, is done.
I agree with Kev, the selection is very, very good and the shadow opacity (in my opinion) still needs lowering. Something else to try, woyld be a texture on the background layer.
Looking forward to seeing your next breakout.

Bob,
what a mistake to make! We've all done it and cried afterwards.
One tip, when your happy with your work, select the top layer and while holding the Control, Shift and Alt Keys type the letter e. This gives you a stamp visible layer, like flattening your image but all your layers remain intact. Then save as a PSD file as normal.

Gloria, Colleen.
When you create an effect and you are quite happy with it, if you do the hold Control, Shift,Alt and type e. All the layers will be made into one image at the top of your layer stack. If you make sure that layer is selected, you can save it as whatever. The rest of your layers stay intact and can be saved as a PSD file for future use or alteration. If you do change the layout just trash the stamp visible layer, create another one.
Kev.:) :) :)

An addendum to Kevs stamp visible for PE3 users.
You have to create a new blank active layer at the top of the stack before the keystrokes.
I've been doing this a lot lately and it is a great way drag an image to another without draging all the layers.:)

I never heard of that "stamp" thing either but now I'll use.
And you know I've never flattened any of my images - is that bad?
