Beginning October 2006 we will be exchanging our kits in a new format that will make it easier for everyone to download the kits.

Below are some FAQs

(1) Who can join the Scrapbook Kit Exchange?
Anyone who submits one kit the month they wish to participate. (i.e., to receive all the October kits, you must submit a kit no later than 20 October; to receive all November kits, you must submit a kit no later than 20 November)

(2) What is the frequency of Kit Exchanges?
Once a month. (Previously we uploaded kits to a website on a weekly basis but that left little time for other projects.)

(3) What in a kit?
· At least 3 paper designs - 12" x12", 300 dpi
· At least 3 embellishments (ribbons / buttons, etc) - 300 dpi PNG format
(You can include as many paper & embellishment designs as you wish with your kit, as long as you meet the minimum requirements above).

(4) How do I join?
Send me a PM with a notice that you wish to join. You will receive a response with an e-mail link to submit your kit, along with further instructions. (NOTE: If you have previously submitted a kit & have questions re the best way to submit your October kit to me, please send me an e-mail.)

(5) Where do I download the Exchange Kits?
· Your monthly kit should be e-mailed to me by the 20th of the month.
· You should also submit a web resolution JPG Kit Preview in that month’s forum thread prior to submitting your kit to me. Members will refer to your Kit Preview in determining which kit(s) they want to download.
· On or about the 30th of each month, I will upload the kit files to YouSendIt.com & notify Scrapbook Exchange Members with the link & password to download individual kits.
· You will then access the link provided & download the zip files of your choice. YouSendIt.com keeps the files online 7 days after you receive notification. During that time you will need to download your kit(s).
You will save time by downloading kit zip files, rather than saving individual files as we have been doing.

Sounds like a plan! How long are the current kits going to be avialable? I need to get over there and do some downloading!

I'll keep them up until 9 October. That gives everyone nearly 3 weeks to download the current kits.

Reminder - It's October 1st (where has this year gone???). Those of you who participated in our previous Scrapbook Kit Exchanges have a little over a week left to download kits from the Exchange Gallery I & II before they are forever gone. (I will delete them from SmugMug on the 10th.)

Nita- Thanks for the reminder! I missed that you were deleting a week into October, so I worked feverishly last night to download the ones I hadn't yet. :o There are some really nice kits on there!!

Monica,

I can just see that kit used with a picture of a grinning, toothless kid! I haven't taken the plunge yet to design anything....that will be the next step! Too many other things on at the moment!

(1) If you have not yet participated in our previous Scrapbook Kit Exchanges, send me a PM for the e-mail address. (Those of you have submitted a kit before, we are using the same e-mail address.)

2) Refer to the first post in this thread for specifics re kit information.

(3) Post a Kit Preview in this thread (refer to the first post there)

http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14026

(4) Zip your individual files (papers in JPG format & embellishments in PNG format) into one large file (refer to YouSendIt for maximum file size). If your kit file is too large, you may send more than one zip file.

Go to http://www.YouSendIt.com & follow their instructions for sending me the zip file.

(5) E-mail your kit from YouSendIt.com to me no later than 20 October.

It CAN'T be the 14th of October already can it??? Yikes, I was just thinking that I need to finish my kit so I can get the preview up & when I looked at the calendar this afternoon I froze.... where has the time gone???

Just a reminder for all of us - if you plan to participate in the October Scrapbook Kit Exchange, you need to post your kit preview & send me the kit by the 20th. I guess this means I'm goin to have to spend less time online the next few days... I'll have withdrawal pains again. ;)
