My nephew took pictures of his son's first soccer game, emailed me some pictures and I made this out of a few of them. I think the colored one looks best. What do you all think? Thanks in advance. Russ

How cute!!!! I like the background with color also!

My 4 year old had his first game last week I did something similar but I want to change the background on mine.

Russ, how cute. I too like the colored backgound. Maybe on the other one you could just lighten the opacity of the colored backgound and still have some color in it.

Christine and Kim: Thanks for the kind words.

Kim: I didn't think of bringing back some of the color. I think that's a great idea and I'll give it a try. Russ

I agree, the one with the color background is best. What a nice layout! I just love those pictures of these new little athletes.

Nice job on this, Russ! Your placement of the picture with the "Every Child is a Winner" banner is just right!

Thanks to you all for your kind words and suggestions.

I'm still working on it. Everyone who's seen my first 2 trys, except my sister, likes the colored one best [me included]. However, I think I like the one below better [50% opacity].

I took Kim's advice and lowered the opacity of the background.

The top picture is lowered to 25% and the lower picture is lowed to 50%

Kay: It's not apparent because of the way I have it on top. But, the picture in the center [with the banner] is actually part of the background photograph. If you look close at the trees you can tell.

I like the 50% background better than any of the others. What are your opinions? Thanks in advance. Russ

Russ,

That looks great with the background opacity lowered - well done.

When I first looked I thought the middle photo was part of the whole.

Then I looked closer and thought I was wrong. :D

Maybe 50%??? Toss up for me 50% or 100%... not too keen on the 25%

Russ, the 50% is really nice. I like it even more with Wendy's frame. Glad the opacity suggestion worked out for you.

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful words and great help.

I was expecting to be asked how I put pictures both behind and on top sections of the background [but there wasn't a question]. Maybe you all know how it's done?

For those who don't, here's the way I did it. I put a white frame around the area in the background [the picture with the banner]. Then I cropped that picture, including the frame and saved it. Then I started over by inserting the original background. On a new layer I inserted the picture that I cropped, moved and sized it so it went in there perfectly [as close to perfect as I was able to get it]. Then I put the other 4 pictures on their own layers and moved those layers so they'd be behind the picture with the banner.
