View Full Version : How to import photos from camera into different directories, based on shooting-date?

Hi,

I am a completely new user to Photoshop Elements 4.0.
So here's my first question. :)

I own a Canon Digital camera and when I download photos from my camera onto my harddisk using the Canon Zoombrowser etc. software, the photos are saved into different subdirectories by their shooting-date.

Yesterday I tried downloading photos from my camera using PS Elements 4.0 but it was not possible to let it save my photos into different subdirectories by their shooting-date. It was -apparently- only possible to create a subdirectory by importing-date.

How can I download/save my photos using PS Elements 4.0 and make use of subdirectories by shooting date like I was used to with my Canon software?

Thanks for any help for this beginner!

Hello Grover,

Welcome to our corner of cyber world and the family. I do not use PSE4 to down load my photos. I make a new directory in My Docs > My Pictures > and then date it (yyyy mm dd + name) and use Windows own copying "program". I do not use the organiser in PSE4 either. I am not much help am I :o

Hi Karen,

When you watch this video (http://www.adobe.com/digitalimag/ideagallery/pse5_overview.html) you see that PS Elements 5.0 gives you the option to actually select the shooting-date when downloading images. But how to accomplish this in 4.0?

Sorry Grover, I have no idea. Like I said, I do not download directly into PSE4.
